Prague Vaclav Havel Airport (IATA: PRG) is the Czech Republic's main international gateway, 17 kilometres north-west of the city centre via the D7 motorway and Rozvadovska Spojka. Group transfers from PRG to the city centre take 25 to 40 minutes in normal traffic depending on the destination. The D7 motorway connects the airport to the Zlicin interchange on the Prague ring road; from there, coaches reach Old Town Square in 20 to 30 minutes via the city centre approach roads. Morning and afternoon peak hours (7am to 9am and 4pm to 7pm) add 10 to 20 minutes via the ring road.

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2: Arrivals and Coach Bay

Terminal 2 (T2, Schengen) handles the majority of intra-European flights and is the busier of the two terminals for leisure and group travel. From the airport, the primary coach route is via the D7 motorway east to the Zlicin interchange, then onto the Prague ring road (Mestsky Okruh) and into the city via Ml. Zraly, Jecna, and Zitna streets to the Old Town area, or via the D5 to the Smichov district for hotels on the south-western embankment. Groups heading to hotels in Vinohrady (east) or Zizkov (east) use the ring road to the D1 interchange and approach from the south-east. Travel time from PRG to Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske namesti) is typically 30 to 40 minutes in normal traffic.

Prague is the primary entry point for groups touring the Czech Republic and Central Europe. The most common long-distance coach runs from PRG are: Prague to Brno (205 km via the D1, approximately 2 hours), Prague to Cesky Krumlov (175 km via the D3, approximately 2 hours), and Prague to Vienna (300 km via the D1 and Austrian A5, approximately 3 hours).
