Brussels is one of Europe's most rewarding school trip destinations. In a single day, a group can visit the Atomium (1958 World's Fair icon), Mini-Europe (a 1:25 scale model of EU landmarks), and the BELvue museum tracing Belgian history from 1830 to the present. For older students, the EU Quarter offers guided visits to the European Parliament and the Commission's Berlaymont building.
Coach hire is by far the most practical transport option for school groups in Brussels: the metro system cannot comfortably accommodate large classes with bags, and the city's arterial roads are well-suited to coach routing. All our school trip coaches carry the mandatory first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and emergency exit equipment required under Belgian and EU regulations.
The Atomium and Mini-Europe are adjacent on the Laeken esplanade, north of the city centre. Coaches use the dedicated coach parking on the Avenue de l'Atomium. A combined Atomium + Mini-Europe half-day programme fits neatly into a morning, leaving the afternoon for a city centre walk or the BELvue museum.
The European Parliament Parlamentarium (visitor centre, free admission) is suitable for secondary school groups studying politics, history, or citizenship. Pre-booked guided tours run in all EU languages. The nearby Europa museum covers the history of European integration. Coaches park on Rue Wiertz.
The Memorial 1815 at Waterloo, 22 km south of Brussels, is the most visited historic site near the capital. The Lion's Mound panorama, the interactive Memorial 1815 museum, and the Hougoumont farmhouse make a full-day programme for history groups. Coaches park in the large dedicated coach area at the memorial entrance.
The Musee du Cacao et du Chocolat on the Grand Place is a popular shorter stop. For science and technology groups, the Musee des Sciences Naturelles (dinosaur hall, second largest in Europe) and Technopolis in Mechelen (30 km north) are both accessible by coach.
As a rough guide, a minibus (up to 19 seats) for school trip transport in Brussels runs around 260 to 510 EUR per day, a midi-coach (around 35 seats) around 430 to 840 EUR per day, and a full-size coach (49 to 55 seats) around 660 to 1,240 EUR per day. School group rates apply to term-time bookings Monday to Friday; weekend and holiday bookings are priced at standard rates. All prices are confirmed fixed with no hidden charges.
