Krakow is Poland's second city and its historic heart, the only major Polish city that survived the Second World War largely intact. The Main Market Square (Rynek Glowny) -- the largest medieval market square in Europe -- Wawel Castle, the Kazimierz Jewish Quarter, and St Mary's Basilica draw over 14 million visitors a year, making Krakow one of Europe's most popular short-break destinations.
