How Global Bus Hire Works

Global Bus Hire is a booking service, not a transport company. We connect groups with vetted local bus, coach, and minibus operators across 195 countries. Every booking includes a professional, licensed driver. We handle the sourcing, vetting, and logistics — you get a confirmed price and a single point of contact.

Our Operator Network

We work exclusively with licensed local operators in each country. Every operator on our network must hold the relevant national transport licence before we add them. In the UK that means a PSV (Public Service Vehicle) Operator Licence issued by the Traffic Commissioner. In Germany, a PBefG licence. In France, a Ministry of Transport licence. Across the EU, all operators comply with EC Regulation 1071/2009 on road transport operator standards.

We do not add operators based on price alone. We check licensing, insurance certificates, vehicle maintenance records, and driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) status. Operators who fail to maintain standards are removed from the network.

How Pricing Works

Every quote is free and there is no obligation to book. When you submit a request, we match it to available operators in your destination country and return a fixed price. That price covers the vehicle, driver, fuel, and VAT where applicable. It does not typically include road tolls, ferry crossings, or driver overnight accommodation on multi-day trips — these are itemised separately in your quote so there are no surprises.

We do not operate an auction or a bidding model. You receive one confirmed price from the operator best matched to your route, vehicle requirement, and date. If the price does not work for you, there is no charge and no obligation.

Self-Drive Is Not Available

Every vehicle booked through Global Bus Hire comes with a professional local driver. We do not offer self-drive hire for coaches, minibuses, or full-size buses. This is a deliberate policy: group transport in unfamiliar countries requires local road knowledge, familiarity with coach-access restrictions, and a current commercial driving licence — all of which our drivers hold.

24/7 Support

Our support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including public holidays. All support is in English. If anything changes on the day of travel — a delayed flight, a route change, a venue access issue — you contact us directly and we coordinate with the driver. You are never left dealing with a local operator in a language you do not speak.

We cover 195 countries through a combination of direct partner relationships and vetted network operators. Our strongest coverage is in Europe, North America, and Australia — markets where we have established operator relationships in most major cities. In emerging markets, we have coverage in capital cities and key tourism hubs. If you are enquiring about an unusual destination, tell us and we will confirm availability before you commit to anything.
