What Is Always Included

The driver holds a full Category D (or D1 for minibus) licence and operates under the operator's PSV licence. These are not optional extras, they are the baseline product.
Driver Hours Regulations
EU and UK driving regulations set strict limits on how long a driver can work:
- Daily driving limit: 9 hours, extendable to 10 hours maximum twice per week
- Break requirement: A 45-minute break after every 4.5 hours of driving
- Daily rest: Minimum 11 consecutive hours between the end of one driving period and the start of the next
- Weekly rest: A regular weekly rest of at least 45 hours

What the Driver Does
- Drives the vehicle safely over the agreed route
- Confirms pick-up and drop-off with the group organiser
- Monitors the schedule and communicates delays

- Knows the local road network, coach bays, and access restrictions
What the Driver Does Not Do
- Act as a tour guide or provide commentary
- Carry or load luggage (though many will assist, it is not a contractual obligation)
- Wait indefinitely without the agreed waiting time arrangement being in place
- Adapt the route without group organiser approval
- Drive beyond the legal daily limit regardless of schedule pressure
What to Confirm Before Travel Day
The items that cause problems on the day are almost always the ones not confirmed in writing at booking:
- Driver's direct mobile number, not the office number
- Waiting time arrangement and the rate if you overrun
- Overnight accommodation confirmed for multi-day trips
- Whether the driver has done the specific route or airport before
