Airport Transfer Coach in Edinburgh

EDI has a single terminal with arrivals on the ground floor; the designated coach collection bays are clearly signed from the terminal exit. Transfer time from EDI to the city centre (Princes Street or the Old Town) is typically 25 to 35 minutes via the A8 and the Western Approach Road. To Haymarket or the EICC on Morrison Street the journey is similarly 25 to 30 minutes. The airport is close to the M8 and M9 motorways, which give direct coach access to Glasgow (60 kilometres, 55 to 70 minutes) and Stirling (55 kilometres, 45 to 55 minutes) for onward transfers without entering the city.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August is the single busiest period for airport transfers in the city. Performance companies, technical crews, and audience groups all arrive at EDI within a compressed window in late July and early August; planning transfers in advance is strongly recommended. The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on Morrison Street is a major conference facility close to the financial district; delegates arriving at EDI for EICC events are a standard booking. Multiple coaches in sequence can collect delegate waves as they land during the main arrival window for a conference opening day.

Edinburgh Airport is well placed for onward group transfers to central Scotland and the Highlands. Stirling is 55 kilometres north-west of EDI, around 45 minutes by coach via the M9. St Andrews is 80 kilometres north-east, around 70 minutes via the A90 and A91. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is around 100 kilometres west, approximately 90 minutes via the M9 and A811.
