Terminals 1 and 2 at LYS handle domestic Air France services and most Schengen EU flights; arrivals emerge from the ground-floor exit where coaches wait in the designated collection bay. Terminal 3, which handles non-Schengen and charter flights, has a separate arrivals area adjacent to the main terminal building. The TGV station is between the two terminal complexes. Transfer time from LYS to Eurexpo is 10 minutes; from the city-centre hotels at the Presqu'ile or Part-Dieu it is 25 to 35 minutes by coach via the A43. The Lyon Convention Centre at the Cité Internationale (Renzo Piano's mixed-use development) on the north bank of the Rhone is 30 to 40 minutes from LYS. Delegate arrival shuttles in sequence over a morning window are a standard booking for multi-day congresses.

Lyon Airport provides straightforward access to the wine regions of the Beaujolais and Rhone valley. Beaujolais wine country is 50 kilometres north of LYS, around 45 minutes by coach via the A6 and the D roads through Villefranche-sur-Saone. The Northern Rhone vineyards (Cote-Rotie, Condrieu, Crozes-Hermitage) begin 30 kilometres south around Vienne, approximately 30 to 35 minutes via the A7. Grenoble is 100 kilometres south-east of LYS, around 60 minutes via the A43, and serves as the gateway for Alpine skiing groups.
