Madrid is home to two of the world's most prominent football clubs and a major sporting infrastructure. Real Madrid play at the Santiago Bernabeu (renovated, capacity 81,000) on the Paseo de la Castellana in the Chamartin district. Atletico de Madrid play at the Estadio Metropolitano (capacity 68,000) in the north-east of the city near the airport. The Madrid Open tennis tournament (ATP Masters 1000 and WTA Premier Mandatory) is held each May at the Caja Magica complex on the southern edge of the city. The Palacio de los Deportes (WiZink Center, 17,000) hosts basketball (Real Madrid, Estudiantes) and boxing events.
Madrid is one of the world's top destinations for football tourism. Groups coming from outside Spain to attend a Bernabeu or Metropolitano match often need airport transfers, hotel-to-stadium transport, and a return after the game, all of which we can combine into a single package.
The Santiago Bernabeu is on the Paseo de la Castellana in the Chamartin area, approximately 5 kilometres north of the city centre. Coach access is via the Paseo de la Castellana and the Calle de Padre Damian; there is a coach drop-off zone on the Bernabeu approach. The renovated stadium (reopened in phases from 2023) has improved pedestrian access; post-match departure from the Bernabeu perimeter takes around 20 to 30 minutes to clear. For Champions League nights, the approach can be congested from up to two hours before kick-off; we build this into the departure schedule.
The Estadio Metropolitano is in the north-east of Madrid, adjacent to the Aeropuerto industrial zone on the Calle de Luis Aragones, approximately 12 kilometres from the city centre. Coach access is via the A2 motorway and the exit to the stadium complex. There is a large dedicated coach parking area within the Metropolitano complex. Transfer time from central Madrid hotels (Gran Via area) is around 20 to 30 minutes by coach. The Metropolitano is one of Madrid's more coach-friendly venues; the complex has clear signage and the parking is well managed.
The Caja Magica complex on the Manzanares riverbank in the south of the city hosts the Madrid Open in May. Coach access is via the M40 ring road and the Avenida de los Poblados. The complex has a dedicated event transport area. For away day trips, Toledo (around 70 kilometres south, 60 minutes by coach via the A42) and Guadalajara (around 55 kilometres east, about 45 minutes via the A2) are within range for day trips; Seville is around five to six hours south by coach for overnight trips.

Champions League nights with extended waiting and multi-stop packages including airport transfers are at the higher end.
