Two airports, one resort corridor
Tunis-Carthage (TUN) serves the capital and the north; Enfidha-Hammamet (NBE) was built for the resort coast and sits within an hour of both Hammamet and Sousse, which is why charter flights favour it. Resort transfer blocks are the bread-and-butter booking, timed to flight banks with hotel drop rotations. The A1 motorway spine makes the coastal legs quick by regional standards.
Carthage, El Jem and the heritage circuit
The heritage day-trips are the country's quiet strength: Carthage's scattered sites and the blue-and-white cliff village of Sidi Bou Said from Tunis or Hammamet; the Bardo's mosaic collection; El Jem's amphitheatre, among the best-preserved Roman arenas anywhere, an easy run from Sousse; and Kairouan's Great Mosque, one of Islam's oldest, inland from the coast. A coach with driver covers any of these as day loops from the resorts, and operators sequence the walking legs around the midday heat in summer.
Sahara routes and where we stop
Southern circuits, the salt lake at Chott el Jerid, the oasis towns around Tozeur and the desert film locations, run as long staged journeys best done over two or more days, with 4x4s taking the dune legs. The limits are FCDO-drawn and we hold to them: the advisories cover the Libyan border area, parts of the south, and the western mountains near the Algerian border, and we do not arrange transport into those zones. The coastal corridor, the heritage circuit and the established Tozeur routes sit outside them.
