Two airports, one motorway
Larnaca (LCA) serves the island's east, with Ayia Napa and Protaras about 40 minutes and Limassol under an hour; Paphos (PFO) covers the west and its own resort strip. The A-road motorway links the whole south coast, and traffic drives on the left, a familiarity bonus for British groups, who make up much of the market. Book the arrival transfer with flight numbers and the driver tracks delays.
The wedding island
Cyprus hosts thousands of overseas weddings a year, Paphos and Ayia Napa above all, and the transport pattern is well drilled: guest shuttles from hotels to town-hall or cliff-top ceremonies, a reception transfer, and late returns after the party. Vehicles book out on summer Saturdays, so wedding transport here is reserved months ahead with the venue, not weeks. Drivers know the photogenic stops, Aphrodite's Rock among them, for the couple's car and the guest coach alike.
Troodos, Nicosia and planning notes
Inland, the Troodos massif carries the island's other classic day: painted Byzantine churches, Kykkos Monastery and mountain villages on winding roads where midi-coaches beat full-size vehicles. Nicosia, the divided capital, is about 45 minutes from Larnaca; note that crossing into the north is a pedestrian matter at the designated points for most group itineraries, and southern-hired vehicles generally stay south, so plan the day as a walking visit from a southern set-down. Summer heat peaks make early starts the rule for mountain and city days alike.
