Group Transport in the Republic of Congo

Brazzaville and Maya-Maya

Brazzaville is served by Maya-Maya Airport (BZV), only a few kilometres north-west of the centre, which keeps airport transfers short. The city sits on the Congo River opposite Kinshasa, and delegations often combine visits to both capitals, so cross-river timings and separate transport each side are worth planning together.

The Pointe-Noire coast

Pointe-Noire, served by Antonio Agostinho-Neto International Airport (PNR), is the country's commercial and oil hub and the second focus for group movement, with its own airport-transfer and staff-shuttle demand. Coach access around the port and business district needs pre-agreeing, particularly for secure sites.

Getting between the two cities

Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire are linked by the RN1 road and by the historic Congo-Ocean railway. The overland run is long and conditions vary, so most groups move between the two by air and keep coaches and minibuses for work within each city.
