Chile stretches over 4,000 km north to south, so no single coach covers it: groups fly the long legs and charter locally in each region. The good news is that the country's core circuit, Santiago, Valparaiso, the Casablanca wine valley and the Andes resorts, all sits within two hours of the capital, and that is where most group transport actually happens.
Santiago and the two-hour circle
Arturo Merino Benitez International (SCL) west of Santiago is the national hub. From the capital, Valparaiso's UNESCO-listed hills and neighbouring Vina del Mar are about an hour and a half on Ruta 68, with the Casablanca valley's cool-climate wineries en route making the natural lunch stop. That one corridor carries most of Chile's group traffic: airport meets, conference shuttles in Santiago's business districts, and coast-and-wine touring days.
Andes ski shuttles
In the June to September season the resorts above Santiago, Valle Nevado, Farellones, El Colorado and La Parva, run on shuttle transport: the access road climbs through dozens of switchbacks, chains are often mandatory, and on peak days the authorities control uphill and downhill flows by timetable. This is a job for local drivers who run the mountain daily, not for hire cars; minibuses with chains carried are the standard vehicle, booked with early-morning departures to beat the control times.
Atacama, the Lakes and Patagonia
Beyond the centre, groups fly: Calama for the Atacama desert and the San Pedro circuit, Puerto Montt for the Lake District, Punta Arenas for Patagonia and the Torres del Paine approach. In each region local operators run the ground legs, and we coordinate the handoffs so one itinerary produces one quote. For multi-region trips a coach plan per region beats trying to reposition a single vehicle over those distances.
