Botswana splits cleanly in two for group transport: a corporate market around Gaborone in the southeast, and a safari market that flows through Maun and Kasane in the north. Coaches and minibuses own the first and the tarmac corridors; light aircraft and lodge 4x4s own the deep Delta. We quote each leg for what it honestly is.
Gaborone and the A1 corridor
Sir Seretse Khama International (GBE) serves the capital, whose steady charter work is corporate: government and diamond-sector delegations, conference shuttles, and staff movements along the A1 corridor north through Palapye to Francistown. The roads on this spine are good tarmac and full-size coaches run them comfortably; recurring corporate schedules are priced as contracts. The South African border at Tlokweng also feeds regular road arrivals from Johannesburg, about four and a half hours away.
Maun, Kasane and the safari handoff
Maun (MUB) is the Okavango Delta's gateway and Kasane (BBK) serves Chobe; both work as handoff points where road transport ends and safari logistics begin. Delta camps are reached by light aircraft, full stop. What groups do book on wheels: Kasane airport meets, Chobe riverfront game-drive connections, the Kasane to Victoria Falls road transfer across the Kazungula bridge (about 90 minutes to the Zimbabwean or Zambian side, visas depending), and Maun town logistics before a fly-in. A minibus is the right size for all of it.
What we will not pretend
Botswana rewards honesty about distances and surfaces. The tarmac network is limited to the main corridors; self-contained park routes like Moremi and the pans need equipped 4x4s with operators licensed for them, and night driving between towns is avoided because of livestock and wildlife on the roads. Where an itinerary needs a 4x4 outfit or a flight, we say so and coordinate the road ends around it rather than stretch a coach where it does not belong.
