Andorra sits high in the Pyrenees with no major commercial airport of its own, so almost every group arrives by road from an airport across the border. Tell us where your flight lands and where your group is staying, and a quote for a coach or minibus transfer up to the mountains can be arranged with a local operator.
How groups reach Andorra
The nearest airport is Andorra-La Seu d'Urgell (LEU), which the tourism board places about 11km by road from the border and which handles a limited number of Spanish routes. For most groups the practical gateways are the larger airports within roughly 200km, which the tourism board lists as Barcelona-El Prat, Toulouse-Blagnac, Girona, Perpignan, Carcassonne, Reus and Lleida-Alguaire. From Spain the road in runs on the N-145 through La Seu d'Urgell; from France it climbs the N-22, N-20 and N-320 over the Col de Puymorens. A road airport transfer to Andorra is a mountain drive, so timings allow for the climb rather than just the distance.
Winter driving rules on the passes
The passes into Andorra are winter roads. The FCDO states that from 1 November to 15 May you must use winter tyres or carry snow chains in Andorra, so a group transfer in that window needs a vehicle equipped for it. The FCDO also notes Andorra has stricter drink-driving limits than the UK, with fines of up to 600 euros and a two-month driving ban, which a professional driver removes from the equation for the group.
Ski and shopping group transfers
Most group demand here is seasonal: ski parties heading for the resort areas and shopping groups making for the capital, Andorra la Vella. Because the arrival airport and the resort can be two or three hours apart across a mountain range, groups usually pre-book a return transfer to the same driver rather than arranging each leg separately. Send the resort, the airport and the group size and we will return a fixed quote; a minibus hire suits a small ski party, while a coach suits a full group.
