Airport Transfer Coach in Warsaw (WAW / WMI)

Warsaw has two passenger airports serving international groups. Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW, IATA code WAW, formally Port Lotniczy Chopina) is 10 kilometres south-west of the city centre via the S2 urban expressway, approximately 20 to 35 minutes by coach depending on peak traffic. It is the main hub for LOT Polish Airlines and handles the majority of long-haul and European routes. Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI) is 40 kilometres north-west via the S7 expressway, approximately 40 to 55 minutes; it handles Ryanair and other low-cost European routes.

The S2 urban expressway is the primary approach road for coaches from WAW to the city centre, joining the ring roads to reach the Srodmiescie (city centre), the Old Town, and the main hotel districts. Morning peak traffic (7am to 9am) and afternoon peak (4pm to 7pm) on the S2 can add 15 to 20 minutes. The best transfer windows for time-sensitive groups are late morning (10am to noon) and early afternoon (1pm to 3pm).

Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW): Terminals and Drop-off

Warsaw Chopin Airport has a single main terminal building with two piers: the Schengen pier (T2, handling EU/Schengen flights) and the non-Schengen pier (T1, handling non-EU flights including intercontinental LOT routes). Both piers are within the same terminal. The coach drop-off and pick-up zone is on the Arrivals level (ground floor, eastern side of the terminal). Coaches cannot wait in the terminal forecourt for extended periods; a designated waiting area is on the access road approximately 200 metres from the arrivals hall. We track flights in real time and the driver meets arriving groups at the arrivals exit with a name board.

Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI): Low-Cost Gateway

Warsaw Modlin Airport (formally Port Lotniczy Warszawa-Modlin) is 40 kilometres north-west of the city centre via the Gdansk motorway (A1/S7). The terminal is a single building with a straightforward arrivals hall. The S7 expressway provides a reasonably direct route from WMI to Warsaw's northern ring road and into the city centre, typically 40 to 55 minutes in normal traffic. The S7 connects at Marki interchange to the S8 for groups heading to the Wola business district or western hotels. We provide dedicated coaches from both WAW and WMI to any Warsaw destination.

Onward Connections: Krakow, Gdansk, and Wroclaw

Warsaw is the main entry point for groups touring Poland, and we provide onward coaching from WAW to all major Polish cities. Warsaw to Krakow is approximately 285 kilometres via the A1 and A4, around 2 hours 45 minutes in normal traffic -- the most common long-distance coach route in Poland. Warsaw to Gdansk is 340 kilometres via the A1 north, approximately 3 hours. Warsaw to Wroclaw is 350 kilometres via the A8 and A4, approximately 3 hours 15 minutes. We provide touring coaches with licensed drivers for multi-city Polish itineraries.
